You May Not Understand As You Become A Man

DRESS COUNTDOWN: 22 DAYS

OFFICIAL CLOSING COUNTDOWN: 14 DAYS

Went over to Stephs last night to do a rough fitting of the sleeveless jacket on her. As I suspected it needed a lot of adjusting. Stephs years of expertise in making cloths came in extremely handy, as she told me how best to tweak the thing out. Now the jacket shouldn't be extremely flattering (it's a military coat), but it still needs to have some semblance of beauty... even if it's a formal beauty — the cut needs to be more shapely.
So late last night, I cut duplicate paper patterns that I'll alter to see what will work best. Then I'll transfer those adjustments that work to the original paper dummy and then finally to the finished Monadnock paper version. That process will take place this weekend. This evening I'm going to create the die-cut templates for all the intricate inlay patterns of the dress. Then Thursday night I'm going to create similar dies for the jacket.
My plan for the weekend is to get the jacket adjusted and begin cutting the real Monadnock paper pieces for the dress. I'll propably just cut the #1 pieces and do their die-cuts as well. There are 6 different component pieces that are in the dress. I'll begin to cut #2's & #3's next week some time. The most time consuming work for this dress will be the die-cuts.
Ohh well... with out then it'll just look like a bunch of layered paper... big whoop!! it'll be the fine details the give the entire outfit some real charm.
