Discoveries Broken Investigation

Beka's first day with the new tattoo.
We stayed overnight in Athens.
Went to the Nance's that evening for a chicken wing cook-out.
John's littlest was playing with our Dogfish Head beer.

Centuries Impressive Cavern

Say good-bye to this arm.
Artist Graham Bradford @ Pain & Wonder has a master plan for you.
The drawing is transferred onto the arm.
Graham uses a marker to draw in a general idea of other flowing elements.
After 2 hours of work Graham has made a great start.
Graham gets right back into it again.
Beka is holding up pretty well, as this is nothing new for her.
The final stretch as Graham finishes all the general outlining and shading.
He adds a few more important details here and there.
The 6 hour session is now over with the black ink fully laid down.
We'll be back in 1 month to watch Graham add in the color.

Burnt Restarting of Culture

This little thing opens beers like a nothing I've ever seen. Put it on top and pop the cap right the hell off. No... you don't get to see it in action.

Fables & Facts For Floods

Got my vintage "Superman 2" Slurpee promo display today. It's an original cardboard mini movie poster holder. These would have been next to the machines at 7-Eleven and held a color poster of Superman flying with Lois Lane. It came with 10 mint condition posters that were rolled up. So I got a complete piece. Very cool find.

Roots In Disasters Seach

Saw this today at Richard's Variety. ONLY $800. Considering buying it... but I'm not 100% sold on it though. I have a few machines that I really want and this isn't one of them. First would of course be the original Playboy machine... but this one is pretty cool. Not in that bad of shape either. But I think I'll end up passing unless I can get it for cheap.

Spoon Feed Ingredients

A still life once thought to be by Vincent van Gogh but later downgraded to the work of an anonymous artist because of doubts about its authenticity is indeed by the tormented Dutch impressionist, researchers said Tuesday.

The process leading to the confirmation reads like a cold case detective story, with a new X-ray technique helping experts re-examine what they already knew about the painting and draw on a growing pool of scholarly Van Gogh research.

A detailed X-ray of an underlying painting of two wrestlers and knowledge of the painter's period at a Belgian art academy combined to lead a team of researchers to conclude that "Still life with meadow flowers and roses" really is by Van Gogh.
