A late nite/early morning trip to the local Publix grocery store.
- Brisk walk down the pharmacy isle. - Eyes glancing down and through the shelves. - Key item is recognized and understood. - Halloween costume conception commences and completes. - Mass quantity purchase ensues. - (3) days of gory gory 'cute cute in a stupid ass way' antics guaranteed.
Spent the entire day blasting out silkscreens. It took all of 8 hours to clean about 15 screens. I hadn't washed any of them since I printed all the names and accent elements for the Clinton Body Count piece all the way back in November of last year. So the screens were caked in tons of white Plastisol. So, while that really didn't give me much trouble in getting out, it was the emulsion that was a serious issue on a number of them. I finally had to go and get a new head for my pressure washer in order to blow the remaining junk out of the screens. That was the key in the end. Once I had that new head, I was able to make relatively quick work of the remaining screens. I could have done it all in 3-4 hours instead of 8 with the new head... but that's life... that's water pressure for ya. - So I cleaned all these screens out because - 1. I was tired of them being dirty... and 2. I'm getting ready to print the backings for the Heart donuts set finally and a few other new editions that I'm currently knocking out before end of year. I' also prepping some large scale screens for the large panel pieces I've been finally pulling together as well. Good stuff... looking to wrap up about 60-80 works before the end of the year. A good portion of which have been in development for the past few years. Ready to get these suckers wrapped up and move on to new works finally. - Also bought a new set of screens because you can never have enough and because I lost (3) of them while cleaning, so they are getting sent off to get re-screened at this place that is down the street from me with 230 yellow mesh. I'll probably buy some more ink when I pick them up as well. I could always use more delicious Plastisol colors in the studio.

--- The song is used in a children's singing game with the same name, in which the players file, in pairs, through an arch made by two of the players (made by having the players face each other, raise their arms over their head, and clasp their partners' hands). The challenge comes during the final lines:
Here comes a candle to light you to bed. Here comes a chopper to chop off your head. Chip chop, chip chop, the last man's dead.
On the last word, the children forming the arch drop their arms to catch the pair of children currently passing through, who are then "out" and must form another arch next to the existing one. In this way, the series of arches becomes a steadily lengthening tunnel through which each set of two players have to run faster and faster to escape in time.
Alternative versions of the game include: children caught "out" by the last rhyme may stand behind one of the children forming the original arch, instead of forming additional arches; and, children forming "arches" may bring their hands down for each word of the last line, while the children passing through the arches run as fast as they can to avoid being caught on the last word. —————
- Had the day off today. Thanks Columbus... thanks Moxie. So instead of sitting home all day or going out and doing something actually productive, I drove around town running some errands and al the while stoping at every local donut shop I could find. Good times. Good times.
- Also found out that Racetrak has the closet thing to a Slurpee this side south of a real 7 Eleven.
- Saturdays trip to the liquor store yielded an amazing accidental find. After heading to the back of the store to procure myself a few bottles of saki, I noticed this gem hidden on a bottom shelf. Yup... Boone's Farm Blue Hawaiian. It was almost as if these (2) lonely bottles were waiting there just for me. They must have been waiting a long time according to the dust on them. So because of this, you know what time it is.. time for some Thom Cruise action. So I slept in late this morning (till noon) and after doing my morning workout and such, I headed downstairs and fixed myself one of these crazy green drinks. The Buffalo classic finally here in the ATL. About time... wow that's good! Thanks Thom.
- Discovered this place on saturday but they were unfortunately closed. I'm going to hit them up again on my day off Monday and see what they have going on here. Excited... hope they have some real goodies.
- Some new donuts in the making this weekend. Trying some new methods in creating the backing frames. Consumerism blow-out. Like the way these are going. Look for more to come in the next week. Also have a set of Black & White donuts that I'm doing up with Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin combo action. Should be fun. - Also spent some of this weekend refurbishing my parents set of donuts. They have a lot of 1st and 2nd series ones, so they all needed a little repair from owner inflicted damages. In the end, they were all retreated with the new 5 coat process which all the new ones receive. The only thing they didn't get were pin backings. Not a big deal here though.
I picked up a half dozen of these beauties from 'Sublime Doughnuts' on my lunch break today. I gave a few away back at the office, but I still have (4)... correction (3) left to make some paintings with eventually. The selection there was more taste-based amazing than visually amazing today, which was a bit of a disappointment, but these little guys totally stuck out. So I had to make sure they made it back home to the studio to begin the process of becoming immortalized. -
